Our College organises various community-focused special events throughout the year to bring our families and the local community together. From our annual Chinese New Year event, 'Festival of Lanterns', to our 'Art's Under the Stars' concert series, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
In total, around five thousand patrons, including high-profile invitees, attend our community events each year.
Excellence Events
Events that allow us to acknowledge the hard work and achievements of our students form a large part of our annual event lineup; from our high-impact spectacle 'Pillar Excellence Evening' to our intimate cocktail evening 'Night of Champions, ' we aim to offer rewarding experiences for our highest achievers.
Our Excellence Events see thousands of guests through the door, as well as high-profile invitees, such as MPs, Councillors and professional athletes.
Celebratory Events
Each November the College gears up for our annual celebratory events. The festivities kick off with our Year 12 Graduation and Formal evening, before we come together again to celebrate our Year 6 cohort graduating Primary school.
These events are held annually across some of the Gold Coast's largest venues.

Festival of Lanterns
Our College lights up the Gold Coast sky as part of our Chinese New Year Celebrations. Festival of Lanterns sees over 1000 patrons through the gates, and is currently supported by the Local Division 11 Councillor.
College Musicals
Varsity College takes over The Home of the Arts biennially, with sell out crowds. Our Creative Arts team host professional theatrical productions with involvement across our entire College.
Night of Champions
Night of Champions aims to celebrate our highest achieving athletes each year. Night of Champions is currently held within the grounds of Heritage Bank Stadium, and features appearances by current and retired professional Olympians, plus athletes from the NRL, AFL and other sporting codes.
Arts Under The Stars
Celebrate the arts at Varsity College, under the starry night sky whilst enjoying performances, multiple activation spaces, plus a range of food trucks. Our event sees over 1,000 guests through the gates and is currently supported by the Local Division 11 Councillor.
Sport, it's one of the pillars our College is built upon. Our ASPIRE Sporting Excellence programs offer students unparalleled opportunities to develop towards 'elite' levels within various sporting arenas.
Our teams participate in some of Queensland's premier competitions, with an impressive record number of wins. Join us in supporting our elite athletes and promoting your brand through our sporting achievements.
AFL
Our AFL program features over 100 athletes, playing across multiple regional and state competitions. Varsity College is also home to the 2022 Queensland Championship Team.
Basketball
Basketball is one of our College's most successful programs with over 100 players across our championship winning teams.
Football
Our Football program is currently home to 4 of the 5 Secondary Football League Championship Teams! Our program consists of 90 athletes across multiple divisions.
Rowing
Our Rowing Program is known for being the most successful state-school Rowing program Queensland wide. We currently have 50 athletes participating in our squad.
We understand the significance of a robust digital presence, occupying an unrivalled position within the digital universe. Our digital footprint extends across multiple platforms, including traditional Social Media Platforms, Varsity Life; our digital news platform, shopVarsity; and consumer media, including short-form web series and podcasts.
Our content, which is created in-house by our professional, award-winning media team, is seen by millions each year, with some of the highest engagement rates seen by an education facility.
